English Christmas Pudding by Tudor Kitchen
Since Dickensian times, the English Christmas Pudding has been part of a traditional celebration. Families would gather in the kitchen and each would take a turn to mix the ingredients, make wishes and add special items, such as a sixpence, which would bring good fortune to whoever was lucky enough to find it.
Usually the puddings are served with either a custard or Brandy Butter, which we also offer for sale.
Brandy may be poured over the pudding and set it alight, for a truly spectacular dessert!
Tudor Kitchen Brandy Butter
Brandy Butter is traditionally served warmed and poured over Christmas Puddings, pound cakes and other baked goods. Also tastes wonderful on toast, crumpets or waffles.
